Hays, Kansas, Fort Hays Museum - Day 3

The last stop was Fort Hays which was established in 1860 to protect the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1873 the biggest decline in the military was when the salary declined from $13 to $8 per month after the war. Buffalo soldiers were at Fort Hays for about 10 of the 22 years that Fort Hays was in existence.

The evening ended with a meal at Jalisco Mexican Restaurant. Bob Epp video tapped our discussion as we each took turns sharing our experiences during the day.
